APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October in 1931 at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. He was born in a Tamil Muslim family. Abdul Kalam was the youngest of five siblings. In the year 1997 government of India awarded Abdul Kalam the "Bharat Ratna" which is a highest civilian award of the Republic of India and also in the same year he got awarded the "Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration" by "Indian National Congress" which is given after the name of former president Indira Gandhi.
