SNOT — the Study'n'Learn National Olympiad Test — is a national-level Olympiad exam for school students, run by Smart School Education Limited under the Study and Learn brand. It is built to test conceptual understanding rather than rote recall, strengthening problem-solving and reasoning while giving students a benchmark against peers across the country. The exam spans LKG to Class 12 and covers nine-plus subjects, from Maths, Science, and English through to Financial Literacy and AI & Computer Science. More than 5,000 schools across India take part, and every participating student receives free Study'n'Learn e-content worth ₹10,000.

Any student from LKG to Class 12 can participate, and registration happens through the school rather than individually. A school signs up and enrols its students, so a parent who wants to enter a child should ask the school's coordinator to register with Study'n'Learn. There is no qualifying round or minimum-marks requirement to enter — SNOT is open to all ability levels, which is deliberate, since the exam is designed to diagnose conceptual understanding as much as to rank students. Over 5,000 schools across India currently participate.

SNOT covers nine-plus subjects: Maths, English, Science, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Creative Writing, Drawing, Financial Literacy, and AI & Computer Science. Students do not have to sit every subject — they register for the ones they choose, at ₹175 per subject, so a student can enter a single paper or several. The breadth is intentional: alongside the traditional academic Olympiad subjects, SNOT includes creative papers such as Creative Writing and Drawing, and forward-looking ones such as Financial Literacy and AI & Computer Science that most school Olympiads in India do not offer.

The fee is typically ₹175 per subject. Because students register subject by subject, the total depends on how many papers they sit — one subject is ₹175, three subjects ₹525, and so on. The Advanced AI Olympiad may carry a separate fee structure, so confirm that one with your school coordinator at registration. Weighed against the per-subject cost, the fee includes free Study'n'Learn e-content worth ₹10,000 for every participating student, plus a participation certificate. Fees are collected through the participating school rather than paid directly by parents.

SNOT runs in stages: School Level first, then Zonal Level, then National Level. Every registered student sits the School Level round at their own school; strong performers progress to the Zonal round, and the highest scorers from there reach the National Level. Medals are awarded to top performers at each of the three stages rather than only at the end, so students gain recognition at whichever level they reach. This staged structure is what makes SNOT a genuine national benchmark — a student's result is measured against peers in their school, their zone, and ultimately the whole country.

Every participating student receives free Study'n'Learn e-content worth ₹10,000 — the largest single benefit, and one that applies regardless of how a student places. Every participant also receives a certificate. Beyond that, top performers earn medals at School, Zone, and National levels, and the highest achievers receive scholarships, prizes, and national-level recognition. There are less tangible gains too: students get an objective read on their conceptual understanding against peers nationwide, and the competitive-exam format is valuable early practice for the board and entrance exams they will sit later.

Yes. Subject-wise SNOT preparation books are available for all major Olympiad subjects, including the newer papers — AI & Computer Science and Financial Literacy — which are the hardest to prepare for from standard school textbooks. The books are mapped to the SNOT exam pattern rather than being generic practice material, so students work through the question types and difficulty level they will actually face. Schools usually order them alongside registration; ask your school coordinator, or browse the Study'n'Learn Books page for the wider range of titles.

Top performers receive scholarships, medals, certificates, and prizes, awarded at national-level ceremonies. Medals are given at each stage — School, Zone, and National — so recognition is not reserved for national winners alone. Scholarships and the more substantial prizes go to the highest achievers at National Level. Alongside the material rewards, a national ranking gives students a credential they can cite in school records and later applications, and schools with strong results gain recognition too — part of why more than 5,000 schools across India take part.
